Earrings To Flatter Your Face Shape With summer on its way, now is a great time to choose some fresh new earrings to add to your jewelry wardrobe. Earrings are the perfect accessory for summer, no matter how hot the days get. Whether you have long hair that you pull back or short hair, careful consideration of earring styles to wear will ultimately flatter your face. There are four basic face shapes: oval, round, heart-shaped and rectangular. But our list has been expanded to include other identified face shapes. Every woman is unique and when choosing earrings, you can opt to choose shapes that flatter your face, which would de-emphasize certain features, or you can choose shapes to emphasize the features you may have come to love.
The general rule of thumb, to best compliment your face shape is: ~If you have a big face, don't wear earrings that are big and round. Stick with drop earrings or anything that's long. ~If you have a small face, bigger earrings are more suitable.

Oval Face Shape
Earrings to flatter: Most earrings styles will flatter the oval face. You can wear round shapes, button or hoops, ovals, or even chunky earrings with confidence! Triangular earrings look especially flattering on oval face shapes. Earrings to avoid: Really long dangly earrings. Necklace styles: Just about any shape necklace will complement the oval face.

Round Face ShapeEarrings to flatter: To give the illusion of a longer face, wear long and narrow earrings such as square, oblong and rectangle shapes. Think: long & skinny
Earrings to avoid: Stud, petite style or hoop earrings. Necklace styles: Look for long necklaces, 28" to 32", to give the illusion of length.

Earrings that form a triangle, and are dangling, are especially flattering. For example, teardrop styles that fall just a couple inches below the ear lobe and medium sized hoops. Earrings that are bold in design and bright colors will also work with this face shape.
Earrings to avoid: Reverse style earrings (i.e., earrings with the smallest point at the bottom). Necklace styles: A choker necklace is your best choice.

Rectangular Face ShapeEarrings that flatter: Short and bold; dramatic and colorful are the best options. Look for earrings that are more wider than longer.
Earrings to avoid: Rounded shapes and long dangly styles. Necklace styles: High choker necklaces and necklaces 16" to 18" that end in a "U" shape.

Diamond Face Shape (similar to the heart face shape)
Earrings that flatter: Simple and classic in design. Small drop earrings that fall right near the chin line (i.e., are wider at the bottom than they are at the top). If you like you could get away with wearing small studs or hoops that fall right under the ear lobe for a workday look.

Inverted Triangle Face Shape
Earrings that flatter: Hoop or chandelier earrings are best suited for your face shape. As well as, earrings that are wider at the bottom.
