All Crystal Allure Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry bracelets are measured from end to end including the clasp and some designs are available with an extender chain to allow for length adjustability. To ensure that your bracelet will fit you when it arrives, use our guide and/or sizing chart below and keep in mind: The chunkier the beads, the smaller the fit (i.e., an 8" chunky bracelet, which might be a lampwork bead bracelet, will fit more like a 7-1/2").
Choosing a Size for Yourself
Step 1: Measuring Your Wrist To determine the bracelet or watch size you need, measure your wrist with a soft flexible measuring tape -just below the wrist bone (see illustration below). If you do not have a measuring tape you can use a ribbon or piece of string. Mark the length then measure with a ruler. This measurement gives you your actual wrist measurement.
Step 2: Accommodating For The Clasp To allow for movement and flexability, bracelets with a toggle clasp should be ordered larger and you should add 1" to 1-1/4" to your actual wrist measurement. For bracelets with a lobster clasp, add 3/4"-1" to your actual wrist measurement.
Choosing a Size for a Gift Bracelet
Jewelry makes a wonderful gift, but sometimes it's difficult to guess your gift recipient's wrist size. If the bracelet is a gift and you don't know their wrist size, refer to the bracelet size chart below and estimate. The average person is generally 7.25-7.5".
Extra Small: 6-6.5 inches Small: 6.5-7 inches Medium: 7-7.5 inches (Standard) Large: 7.5-8 inches Extra Large: 8-8.5 inches and up.
If you are still not sure, buy a small or medium bracelet with an extender chain. A bracelet extender not only adds versatility to the length, but it's also a nice decorative touch. At Crystal Allure Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry, we try to offer an extender chain on most bracelets that will accommodate one. Our extender chain adds anywhere from 1" to 2.5" to the length of the bracelet. This guarantees your bracelet will fit.
Refer to this article when you are buying from an online jewelry designer. And remember that when you buy from a handmade jewelry designer, you have more control over the specifics of your jewelry (size, color, etc). Please feel free to make use of the comments box at checkout with any special requests and most times we can accommodate.
Please note: Due to bead size variations Crystal Allure Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry has a 1/8" tolerance in sizing. Also, if the beads, pearls, gemstones or other adornments are very large, the room for your wrist may decrease.
Crystal Allure Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry handmade necklace designs - be them pendants, lariats, multi-layers or strands of pearls - add instant style to any outfit. Our artisan crafted necklaces come in all varieties of chain, length, metal, gemstones, pearls, crystals and beaded designs. As well, many of our necklaces are made with extenders, allowing you to easily adjust the length of your necklace to suit your outfit or comfort level.
Traditionally, necklaces come in seven lengths. When choosing one of our handmade necklaces or pendants, remember that the length will determine where it falls on your chest. In general, longer lengths emphasize the bust while shorter lengths accentuate the neckline.
Our diagram below illustrates how necklaces of different lengths will hang. Keep in mind that a necklace's length can vary according to your neck size and the width and flexability of the necklace. Click here to shop Crystal Allure Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry necklaces.
-------------------------- Collar (12-13 inches) Collar necklaces encircle the middle of the neck and can be made up of one, two, three or more strands. Collars go best with elegant V-neck, boat neck or off-the-shoulder fashions.
-------------------------- Choker (14-16 inches) A choker is perhaps the most classic and yet versatile of all the single strand lengths. It lies just above the collarbones and emphasizes the neckline. Chokers are a beautiful choice for many bridal and bridesmaid dresses.
-------------------------- Princess (17-19 inches) The princess length necklace is the most common necklace length and hangs over the collarbones. It is best suited for crew and high necklines. It also complements low plunging necklines. Pendants, lockets, charms or other embellishments are great ways to add to the allure of a handcrafted princess necklace.
--------------------------
Matinee (20-24 inches) The matinee necklace falls to the top of the bust and looks wonderful with a variety of necklines. It is an ideal choice for casual or business attire, looks best with high necklines and adds sophistication to a professional look. The matinee necklace also flatters bigger busts.
--------------------------
Opera (28-34 inches) The opera's impressive length allows for a variety of wearing options. When worn as a single strand, it is refined and perfect for high or crew necklines. When doubled, it serves as a versatile two strand choker. It can be knotted at the neckline or just above the bust for yet another look. Traditionally, opera length necklaces are worn with eveningwear, although using them to accessorize more casual attire has become a fresh, cutting-edge fashion statement.
-------------------------- Ropes & Lariats (45+ inches) The luxurious ultra-long rope necklace can be both elegant and sexy. It can be made with several clasps placed in various locations around the necklace which enables it to be broken down into different necklace and bracelet combinations, or doubled and even tripled to create a stunning multi-strand choker.
Lariats are another long-length necklace that are unattached at one end so that you can tie them in various ways to deliver sexier results. Lariats look best with low necklines and off the shoulder styles.
